Big Grove

Big Grove is a little gem in Solon, Iowa that makes house made brews and authentic food, including brick stone oven pizzas (my favorite). Ethan and I made the trek out 20 minutes to Solon to score during their happy hour, two for one beers! Here is a glimpse of their pizza menu. 

FROM THE OVEN

CLAM AND PROSCIUTTO

Little neck clam, prosciutto, roasted garlic crème fraiche, melted leeks, Aleppo chile, Parmesan.

PIZZA MARGHERITA

San Marzano tomato, fresh mozzarella, basil, olive oil, sea salt.

ROASTED MUSHROOM

Rotating selection of locally grown mushrooms, garlic confit, fontina cheese, arugula.

SALUMI

Pepperoni style beef and pork sausage, San Marzano tomato, fresh mozzarella.

TRADITIONAL SAUSAGE

Housemade fennel pork sausage, San Marzano tomato, fresh mozzarella.

WHITE SAUSAGE

Creme fraiche, housemade fennel pork sausage, fresh mozzarella, red onion, scallion, marinated tomato, fennel pollen.

I personally would go for the roasted mushroom or white sausage, but E is more classic (and not into white pizza). We went for the Pizza Margherita and Traditional Sausage. These essentially are the same pizza and one has sausage, but still delicious!
