when you almost literally order the whole menu at virtue: green tomatoes, short rib, king trumpet mushrooms, lemon chicken, collards, mac & cheese, cornbread & honey butter. and then when you literally do order every dessert: millie’s pudding, carrot cake, lemon pound cake, bread pudding. everything was absolutely unreal, it was amazing to be able to see Damarr & crew in the open kitchen concept. I dream about those trumpet mushrooms & greens.

a great escape to sun & heat. Started off in sun city west, where I discovered they have their trash cans in the ground, grow orange trees in backyards, and met the gem of a human who is marcy.
cambria hotel with a solid rooftop, where we saw the coolest place i’ve ever been to… the pemberton. Its a community place that has Food, drinks, shopping & art collective at historical Sarah H. Pemberton house in downtown. We did all of our rounds: Saint Pasta for some watermelon tequila concoction · baja tacos for palomas & tacos · Momma maythai chicken skewers · why not for a last round (because why not) · pi curiousfor the real night cap (don’t sleep on their homemade ranch).
we had to sneak in a quick hike at the hole in the rock and the thing I will gladly say I was wrong about, the desert botanical garden. I wasn’t the most keen on going, but after walking in, we could have used 2 more hours, atleast · one of my favorite parts of phoenix was all of the street art · and you know we had to sneak in a sunset.

started off with a birthday sweat sesh on my 1 year anniversary with not only s3, but colleen (i stan for colleen), was treated to beautiful flowers x2, stunning art, and the coziest dinner at the publican’s cassoulet dinner with amazing company.
the twenties were full of a lot of feelings. fell in and out of love a few times, including with myself. i have had years of hating my body, regretting decisions, and trying to do everything based on what I thought I “should” be doing. Im not sure if it was coming into faith or learning to be more real with myself (or a combination of both), but i am starting to learn to love the girl in the mirror. its a slow, hard process but i am trying to not take for granted that i was created a very specific way for a reason. i can always better myself, but i am was made exactly who i am and I shouldn’t try to shove that into a mold that I think I should be in.
i keep hearing from everybody, that your thirties are the best years - and I think that could be true. I am excited for the years to come, but even more excited to spend a little bit more time getting to know the girl in the mirror. to be kinder to her. to understand what she loves and how to truly love on others.
The twenties were full of a lot, but lets just hope there was also a lot of growth.
