every day is another opportunity to eat, pray, love

fillin' up

Although this month wasn’t full of too many crazy-good eats, it was filled with little moments that I will hold onto a lot longer (or at least what I like to tell my wasteline).

No I did not move home

My mom had foot surgery and I jumped at the excuse to come home and help out. Can you blame me wanting to hang out with this bundle of joy as much as possible?? Even if the little guy gives you a stomach bug that has you missing the super bowl, because you have to spend some quality time with the other super bowl.

I’ll also take any opportunity I can to sit by a Dave fire, the Texas sun, or get Summy snuggs.

city tidbits

started book club with a friend - we read Crying in H Mart and caught up over Banh Mi at DelSeoul. Absolutely crushed this bowl of homemade Ramen with my new utensils from a new Asian Market. Truly trying to earn regulars status at Chicago Fire House - their happy hour is truly amazing, but the staff is even better. I was beyond proud of myself that I posted up at the bar with my book and an espresso martini (or three) pro tip - get cute so you dont feel like a slum (press on nails have been a game changer for feeling chte in a pinch) & bring a book so you have something to do…and dont look so lonely

Slice Baby Reporting for Duty

When your pizza dream becomes a reality…you shoot your shot. Yelp put out that they were hiring a Chief Pizza Officer for a 6 month period. It was the first time in a long time (or maybe ever), that I really spoke up about something that I truly wanted. It was a little uncomfy, but I had so much fun shooting it and going after something, even if the answer isn’t a yes.

Is this what growing up is? I guess it’s time to find out, as the big 3-0 is knocking on my door.
